Essay + book created at PSU. I have always had an interest in the punk rock aesthetics and just generally going against the status quo. So when coming up with a concept for this project I thought to do some research on the history of punk typography and who were the people behind these designs. For the aesthetic of the book, I wanted to pay homage to the real punk designs by making my own collage for the cover. For the inside spreads I used different shapes that mimicked the cut out paper look, and helvetica for the type because I wanted to use a basic typeface that matched the look of the text in fan-made zines and other punk designs.
